Words & Music: Curtis Charles Compton
(Fussing and fighting)
We’re killing one another
(Wheeling and dealing)
Turn your back on your own brother
(Sinning and winning)
Everybody wants to make it
(Cheering then Jeering)
Many will but some will fake it
There are wars going on through the day and the night
Yet over half of us don’t have a reason to fight
You left home and took all but your pride on the shelf
Now you don’t know why, but you’re killing yourself
What can we do to get rid of this mess?
All the hatred, and fear, the disdain and the stress
Where is there no war but pure love and devotion?
The only place I know of is deep in the ocean
So we’d better act fast, if mankind is to last
Let’s live for the future, instead of the past
At the rate we are going, this world will soon end
And an old wooden box will be your newest best friend.
It’s time to take charge of my “save the world” mission
Maybe I can put this world in a better position
Need to find a location deep down in the sea
And build us a dome of pure tranquility
They all ask me, “Where the hell are we going?
Do you really know what it is that you’re showing?
Will that big plastic bubble preserve our future,
or just end up as more of the past? ”
I want you all to listen while I speak my peace
I’m telling you now, this old world will soon cease
Still I’m going to try to save all I can
Then we’ll start a new world once this one’s ruined by man.
